Honda Empowers Northern Women Farmers with Equipment

Honda Manufacturing Nigeria Limited has empowered 10 women farmers from Northern Nigeria with agricultural equipment to improve food production, aiming to reduce food importation into the country. This initiative was announced by Honda Managing Director, Mr.

Tetsuya Kawai, during the second edition of the Empowerment of Women in Agriculture program held on Thursday in Abuja. Mr.

Abayomi Aanuoluwapo, Honda Spare Parts Manager, represented Kawai and emphasized the importance of empowering women with the right tools to strengthen families and communities. Leo Amadi, Honda Regional Manager for Kano Office, noted that the program also aims to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills for their farming businesses.

Beneficiaries included Ms. Joy Imoh, a farmer from Jos, who highlighted the benefits of the equipment, particularly an automatic sprayer, in improving efficiency.

Ruth Isaac praised Honda's efforts in encouraging more women to engage in agriculture.
