Nigerian Government Empowers 500 Women in Anambra State

The Nigerian Government has empowered 500 women in Anambra State through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)/Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Women Empowerment Programme. This initiative, implemented by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs in collaboration with the Renewed Hope Initiative, targets women across the five South-East states.

Beneficiaries received equipment such as deep freezers, maxi gas cookers with ovens, generators, and industrial grinding machines to help establish or expand their businesses. Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady, emphasized the program's goal of promoting economic inclusion and women's financial independence, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, noted that beneficiaries were selected from vulnerable groups, including wives of fallen heroes and widows. The initiative aims to provide productive assets for sustainable livelihoods.

Local officials commended the partnership between the Federal and Anambra State governments and urged beneficiaries to utilize the equipment effectively.
