Memorial Ceremony Honors 17 Fallen PMF Officers in Abuja

On May 19, 2026, a memorial ceremony took place at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Abuja to honor 17 officers of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) who were killed during a terrorist attack on May 8, 2026, at the Nigerian Army Special Forces School in Buni Yadi, Gujba Local Government Area, Yobe State. The event, led by Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu, brought together officers, families, and colleagues to remember the sacrifices made by these officers.

The ceremony was marked by moments of silence and reflections on the bravery of the fallen officers, who were part of the elite paramilitary wing of the Nigeria Police Force. The IGP acknowledged the heavy price paid by these officers in the line of duty, emphasizing their commitment to protecting the citizens of Nigeria.

The fallen officers hailed from various locations, including Yenagoa, Asaba, Lagos, Gusau, Port Harcourt, Kubwa, and Onitsha, and their sacrifice was recognized as the highest form of patriotism.
