Armed Robbers Steal ₦4m from Couple in Bauchi

On June 8, 2026, at approximately 3:00 AM, five armed hoodlums broke into the residence of a 28-year-old male in Gadau, Bauchi State, tying up the couple and threatening them with a machete. The assailants stole valuables including a Jinchen motorcycle, five Android mobile phones, ten sets of wrappers, and cash totaling ₦1,000,000, amounting to a total theft value of ₦4,000,000.

The incident was reported to the Gadau Division Police Headquarters on July 3, 2026. Following the report, the Bauchi State Police Command, led by spokesperson Nafiu Abubakar, launched an intelligence-led investigation that resulted in the arrest of two suspects, Salisu Umar (20) and Sadiq Shehu (20), from the Azar Katagum local government area.

The suspects were identified by the complainant's wife during a police identification parade. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, and the police have urged the public to remain vigilant and provide credible information to assist in tackling criminal activities.
