Man Arrested for Violent Attack on Cousin in Katsina

On June 22 at approximately 3:23 PM, the Katsina State Police Command arrested 20-year-old Adam Tama for allegedly attacking his 19-year-old cousin, Fatima Lawal, in Sabon Gari. The attack involved the use of a knife and pieces of firewood, resulting in deep cuts to Lawal's right ear and multiple injuries across her body.

Tama reportedly attempted to suffocate Lawal with a sponge after tying her mouth with a rope, believing she was dead, before dragging her to the bathroom and fleeing the scene with her mobile phones, including an iPhone 13 Pro Max valued at ₦750,000, a Samsung A05 worth ₦185,000, a power bank, and ₦18,500 in cash. Following the incident, Lawal was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

The police swiftly apprehended Tama, who was found in possession of the stolen iPhone and other items. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
