Rivers Hoopers' Koko Aims for NPBL Title Redemption

Victor Koko, captain of Rivers Hoopers, has called on his teammates to transform the disappointment of last season's loss into motivation as they pursue the Nigeria Premier Basketball League title. The Hoopers, six-time champions, are competing in the 2026 Final Four, which commenced in Port Harcourt.

They aim to reclaim their title after a narrow 74–72 defeat to Lagos Legends, now known as Maktown Flyers. Koko emphasized the importance of winning, stating that the memory of last season's defeat fuels their determination.

The team, arriving as the top seed with a 6–1 postseason record, has strengthened its roster with notable players, including veteran Tunisian point guard Omar Abada and former BAL Defensive Player of the Year Peter Olisemeka. Coach Ogoh Odaudu has made these strategic additions to enhance their chances of success.

Koko expressed confidence in the team's ability to handle the pressure of competing at home and is determined to secure victory for their supporters.
