STL Lago Base Polo Club Wins Big at 2026 Lagos Polo

The 2026 Lagos International Polo Tournament concluded with STL Lago Base Polo Club achieving significant success by clinching three major titles, including the coveted Majekodunmi Cup, sponsored by Seyi Tinubu. The event took place at the Ribadu Road Polo Ground in Ikoyi, celebrating the traditional heritage and camaraderie of Lagos polo.

STL Lago opened their campaign with victories in the Adedapo Ojora Cup and the Argentin Ambassador’s Cup, while also securing the Owen Cup and the Chapel Hill Denham Open Cup as runners-up. The tournament featured intense competition, with STL Lago dominating their rivals and extending their lead in the polo fiesta.

The Lagos Polo Club president, Adeyemo Alakija, congratulated the winners and runners-up, urging all participants to work harder for the next tournament in 2027. The event highlighted the skill of Nigerian players and the glamour of polo, which dates back to the early 1900s in Nigeria.
