NNPC and Dangote Partnership to Boost Nigeria's Economy

Hon. Philip Agbes, the Deputy Spokesman of the House of Representatives, praised the partnership between the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) and Dangote Petroleum Refinery, describing it as a strategic milestone for Nigeria's energy sector reform.

NNPC holds a 7.25% equity stake in the refinery, which is expected to enhance Nigeria's position in the oil and gas industry. Agbes noted that the refinery's capacity to process 650,000 barrels per day demonstrates Nigeria's industrial strength and aims to restore confidence in the country's energy capabilities.

He highlighted the need for collaboration across upstream products to reduce inefficiencies and strengthen domestic processing capacity. Agbes assured that the House of Representatives would continue to support policies promoting transparency and regulatory discipline in the energy sector, emphasizing that Nigeria cannot afford fragmented progress and must focus on sustainable partnerships to drive economic growth.
