Nigerian House Moves to Block Billion-Dollar Oil Revenue Losses

The Nigerian House of Representatives, through an ad hoc committee chaired by Hon. Seyi Sowunmi, raised concerns about Nigeria losing billions of dollars annually from unverified crude oil shipments and underreported exports.

The workshop held in Abuja highlighted the significant revenue leakages jeopardizing the nation's development. Sowunmi stressed the importance of protecting the country's revenue system and proposed strong reforms to address non-compliance with export regulations.

The committee aims to enhance transparency and accountability in Nigeria's oil export processes to prevent financial losses and restore confidence in the economy.
