Darma: Housing PPP Summit Outcomes to Shape Strategy

Engr Muttaqha Rabe Darma, the Minister of Housing, declared that the outcomes from the Renew Hope Housing Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Summit will be integral to the ministry's strategic plan aimed at transforming housing delivery and driving economic growth in Nigeria. This statement was made during the second edition of the summit, held on May 12, 2026, at the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Centre in Abuja.

The summit focused on policy, project financing, and delivering housing at scale, bringing together key stakeholders from government, private sector organizations, and financial institutions. Darma announced that the strategic plan would be officially unveiled by the end of May and would provide clear directives for implementing housing policies in collaboration with the private sector.

He also mentioned ongoing housing construction projects in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State, Kano State, and Karsana, Abuja, which are expected to be commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu upon completion. The minister emphasized the importance of creating a sustainable housing framework anchored on strong PPP models and innovative financing mechanisms.
