Peter Okoye, a member of the music duo P-Square, sparked controversy after responding to a fan on X regarding his children's fluency in Igbo, his native language. The fan's inquiry followed Peter's post about his children speaking French in Paris.

Peter's reply, “Who Naija language help? Make I hear word abeg,” drew criticism for undermining Nigerian languages, despite his previous incorporation of them in his music.

In response, his twin brother, Rudeboy, expressed his pride in Nigerian culture and language, stating, “I’m a ‘nobody’. I repeat!

A nobody!! Without the culture, native language, the pride of a Nigerian. 100% proudly Nigerian. 100% proudly Igbo.” Peter later addressed the situation, apologizing for his comments but accusing Rudeboy of using the moment to undermine him.
