Bandits Kill 60 in Niger Market Attack, Kidnap Women and Children

Bandits believed to be terrorists stormed a market in Niger, killing 60 people, including traders and buyers, and kidnapping several others, particularly women and children. The attack took place near Kainji National Park in Papiri, with victims from St.

Mary's Catholic School among those abducted. The terrorists also set fire to homes, killed residents, and looted food and valuables worth millions of naira.

The Catholic Church in Kontagora Diocese was also targeted, with the parish priest narrowly escaping abduction. The search and rescue operation is ongoing in the affected communities.
