Timi Frank Criticizes Tinubu's UK Trip After Attacks

Timi Frank, a former Deputy National Public Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), condemned President Bola Tinubu's visit to the United Kingdom, which occurred just 24 hours after deadly attacks in Maiduguri, Borno State. In a statement released on Thursday, Frank expressed that the timing of the trip was insensitive and embarrassing, particularly in light of the recent violence that left many Nigerians mourning.

He accused the UK government of complicity in Nigeria's challenges and emphasized that it was inappropriate for government officials to engage in ceremonial activities abroad while citizens were grieving. Frank's comments were directed at the President's visit, which included attendance at an event hosted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle, alongside First Lady Remi Tinubu.

He asserted that such actions reflect a lack of empathy towards the victims of violence in Nigeria.
