First Lady's Support Transforms Akara Vendor's Business

Ayobami Ogunmoroti, popularly known as Ayo Alakara, revealed that the financial support he received from First Lady Oluremi Tinubu significantly transformed his Akara business. In a TikTok video posted on Tuesday, Ogunmoroti expressed gratitude for the timely assistance, which enabled him to build a food kiosk and employ 12 workers.

He highlighted the importance of small-scale businesses in Nigeria and encouraged others to embrace entrepreneurship. During a presidential press corps dinner at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu defended her remarks promoting small businesses and referred to Ogunmoroti's story.

He also urged fellow Akara sellers to adopt safer food packaging practices to protect public health. Ogunmoroti, a political science graduate from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, started his Akara business during the COVID-19 pandemic after facing job challenges.

He has since rebranded his business to include packaging and delivery services.
