Papaya Ex Alleges Police Violence in Lagos Encounter

Abik Raheem, popularly known as Papaya Ex, recounted her experience of alleged police violence during a late-night stop in Ajah, Lagos State. In a TikTok live session on Friday, she claimed that the incident occurred as she was returning home from a movie set.

Papaya Ex accused police officers of using excessive force against her driver and behaving inappropriately towards her. She alleged that one officer struck her with a gun, slapped her, and forcibly took her phone.

Although she did not have video evidence of the assault, she suggested that network issues prevented recording the incident. During the livestream, she displayed visible injuries on her face, indicating the severity of the encounter.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with users expressing concern and calling for a formal investigation by the Lagos State Police Command, which has not publicly responded to the allegations.
