Jihadist Attack in Woro Community Leaves 162 Feared Dead, Calls for Enhanced Security

In a tragic incident, the Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area was attacked by jihadists, leading to mass casualties with 162 feared dead. The attack involved a coordinated invasion by a group of gunmen who killed indiscriminately, set houses on fire, and abducted residents.

Prior warnings had been issued to security agencies about the impending attack, but it still occurred, leaving scores dead and many missing. Local officials, including Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and community leaders, condemned the attack and called for enhanced security measures.

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) also criticized the resurgence of terrorist attacks in northern states and called for a total overhaul of the region's security strategies to combat such violence effectively.
