Kwara State Village Massacre: Bandits Turn Woro Community into Killing Field, 162 Dead

Woro village in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State, witnessed a horrific attack by jihadists, resulting in a mass grave with 162 confirmed deaths, including a 26-year-old choir star, Ifunaya Nwagen. The quiet village turned into a killing field as bandits stormed the community, killing residents indiscriminately and burning homes, leaving behind a scene of devastation.

Prior to the attack, the bandits had visited the village multiple times, preaching their ideology and causing unease among the residents. Despite warnings and attempts to thwart the invasion, the bandits carried out a brutal attack, leading to a significant loss of life and destruction.

The community was left in mourning, with survivors grappling with the traumatic memories of the massacre. Local authorities, including Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and Kaiama Local Government Chairman Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Danladi, visited the affected community to assess the situation and provide support to the grieving residents.
