"How Market?": Presidency Shades Atiku, Obi as Bye-Election Results Emerge

The Presidency took a dig at opposition leaders Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi as results from recent bye-elections emerged. The African Democratic Congress (ADC), which the opposition coalition had joined, failed to challenge the dominance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Despite the heavyweight politicians in the coalition, the ADC was unable to make significant gains in the bye-elections held in 12 states. The APC won 12 out of the 16 seats, with the remaining four seats shared between other parties.

The Presidency's special adviser on information strategy, Bayo Onanuga, mocked the opposition leaders in a social media post, questioning their marketability. The APC hailed its victory as a testament to the people's endorsement of President Bola Tinubu's agenda.

The opposition, however, criticized a Canadian court's ruling tagging the APC and PDP as terrorist organizations.
