Nigerian Military Arrests Kidnappers, Rescues Victims

Between September 4 and 10, 2026, the Armed Forces of Nigeria intensified military operations across the country, as reported by Major-General Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations. These operations aimed to combat terrorism, kidnapping, and secessionist activities.

In the Northeast, particularly in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe States, troops of Operation HADIN KAI achieved significant results, including the surrender of 17 terrorist fighters and their family members in Monguno and along the Gwoza-Limankara Road. The surrenders were attributed to harsh living conditions within terrorist enclaves.

Additionally, on September 8, troops intercepted a female abductee and her child, who had been forced into child marriage. The military also arrested several suspected terrorists and informants, disrupted logistics networks, and recovered weapons, including an AK-47 rifle, during this period.

The operations reflect the commitment of the Armed Forces to address security threats nationwide.
