NDDC Engages Stakeholders for Project Protection in Niger Delta

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is actively engaging stakeholders to foster project ownership and protection within the Niger Delta region, which has faced significant challenges over the past two decades. The NDDC, under the leadership of Dr.

Samuel Ogbuku, has marked its 25th anniversary with a commitment to transforming the region through various projects aimed at improving living standards. Recent initiatives include the delivery of solar-powered street lights to enhance security and socio-economic activities.

However, the NDDC has expressed concerns over vandalism and theft, which undermine project objectives and waste resources. To combat these issues, Hon.

Ifedayo Abegund, the Executive Director of Corporate Services, emphasized the importance of community engagement. The NDDC has organized consultations across nine states, including Ondo, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Abia, Imo, Rivers, Delta, and Edo, from February 25 to March 25, 2026, to strengthen collaboration and promote mutual responsibility for protecting development projects.
