Nigerian Socialite Nzube Ikeji Accused of Scamming Romanian Woman of N3.4bn in Elaborate Online Fraud Scheme

Nigerian socialite Nzube Ikeji is accused of orchestrating a sophisticated online scam that defrauded a Romanian businesswoman, Laura, of N3.4 billion. The scam involved creating a fake online persona as Dubai prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum to gain Laura's trust.

Ikeji allegedly convinced Laura to transfer an estimated 2.5 million euros under false pretenses. The investigation revealed that Ikeji collaborated with accomplices like Matthew Cro and Martin Abhulimhen to carry out the scam.

The scheme collapsed when Laura discovered the truth and reported it to authorities. Ikeji, known for his connections in Nigerian political and business circles, was also linked to a money laundering attempt involving a Nigerian comedian and mismanagement of NGO funds.

The scam highlights the dangers of online fraud and the need for vigilance against such criminal activities.
