Nigerian Police Investigate Socialite Over $2.5 Million Dubai Crown Prince Scam

The Nigerian Police Force's Cybercrime Unit has initiated an investigation into Nzube Henri Ikeji for allegedly scamming a Romanian woman out of $2.5 million by posing as a Dubai Crown Prince. The probe was launched after a documentary by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) revealed the fraudulent scheme.

The victim, identified as Laura, was contacted through a LinkedIn account claiming to belong to the Crown Prince. The documentary alleges that Ikeji, along with accomplices, orchestrated the scam by impersonating the Crown Prince and promising investment opportunities.

The police, led by Uchenna Ifeanyi, have taken steps to track down Ikeji, including analyzing the documentary and collaborating with journalist Chikezi Omeje. Ikeji's Instagram account and his wife have been located, and the police are awaiting formal contact from the victim to proceed with potential arrests.
