Nigeria Showcases Defense Manufacturing at EIAS 2026

Chennar, representing the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) and D7G Limited, announced Nigeria's participation in the El Alamein International Airshow 2026, which took place from September 8 to 10, 2026, in Egypt. This event marked the second edition of the airshow, following the inaugural event in 2024, which featured over 250 exhibitors from 50 countries and attracted more than 12,000 visitors.

DICON-D7G is a partnership focused on producing military hardware locally to reduce import dependence and enhance national security. Chennar stated that Nigeria aims to become a significant player in defense manufacturing, potentially serving as a military equipment hub for Africa.

He also mentioned plans for a military jetty in Lagos to bolster Nigeria's self-sufficiency in military supplies. This participation in Egypt was Nigeria's third appearance at major international defense exhibitions, following events in Doha, Qatar, and Ankara, Türkiye, showcasing the country's progress in indigenous defense manufacturing.
