Nigeria's Defence Sector Shines at Egypt Airshow 2026

Mr. Osman Chennar, the Chief Executive Officer of Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria-D7G (DICON-D7G), remarked that Nigeria's defence manufacturing sector is emerging as a source of pride for Africa after the country's participation in the El Alamein International Airshow 2026 (EIAS 2026), held in Egypt from September 8 to 10, 2026. Chennar described DICON-D7G as a collaborative manufacturing partnership aimed at producing military hardware locally, reducing reliance on imports, and enhancing national security.

He stated that the company's objective is to position Nigeria as a potential supply hub for military equipment to serve both its armed forces and other African nations. Chennar noted that this was Nigeria's third appearance at a major international defence exhibition.

Additionally, he mentioned that arrangements for a military jetty are nearing completion, which would bolster Nigeria's capacity to supply and maintain its military equipment, aligning with the country's broader defence ambitions.
