Bola Tinubu's Request Leads to Abdulahi Ramat Losing NERC Chairmanship

Formerly nominated as the Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Abdulahi Ramat lost out on the position following a request by Bola Tinubu for the confirmation of two other nominees. The nominees mentioned in the request were Aisha Mahmoud Kanti Bello, Fouad Animashaun, and others.

The exclusion of Ramat caused a stir, leading to the resumption of duties by the Commission. Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President, announced the new Chairman's nomination to avoid a leadership vacuum.

The Senate is expected to screen and confirm the nominees shortly.
