Ogunsan Family Honors Parents with AKEM Foundation

The AKEM Foundation, founded by Dr. Ayodel Ogunsan and his siblings, commemorates their late parents, Dr.

Akinola Ogunsan and Madam Emiola Ogunsan, who valued education and entrepreneurship. Launched four years ago, the foundation aims to create social impact and support young Nigerians through education and business mentorship.

On May 9, 2023, the foundation celebrated its fourth anniversary with a business pitch competition, receiving 71 applications and selecting five finalists. The winners included Adetolani Amokay, who received a ₦1.5 million grant, Adeola Deborah Agboola with ₦1.25 million, and Nkechi Gift with ₦1 million.

The foundation emphasizes transparency and merit in its selection process, aiming to empower youth and provide sustainable support rather than temporary interventions.
