Mbakwe Leadership Foundation to Honor Akagburuonye

The Mbakwe Leadership Foundation is set to honor Barr. Success Obioma Akagburuonye for his outstanding philanthropic and humanitarian service, as well as his leadership role in Imo State and Nigeria at large.

This recognition is part of the foundation's mission to immortalize the legacy of the late Chief Samuel Onunaka Mbakwe, who was the first civilian governor of old Imo State from 1979 to 1983. Chief Alex Mbakwe, the chairman of the foundation and heir to the deceased, disclosed plans for the honor during a visit to Akagburuonye's ancestral home in Ogbor Uvuru, Mbais.

The foundation commended Akagburuonye for his long-standing commitment to philanthropy and leadership. Akagburuonye expressed gratitude for the honor, emphasizing his commitment to positively impacting the lives of people in Imo State and beyond.

The foundation also recognized Governor Hope Uzodimma as the first recipient of its prestigious leadership award in 2023.
