Nigerians Demand Peaceful Campaigns for 2027 Elections

With the commencement of campaigns for the 2027 elections, concerns have arisen regarding threats and attacks reportedly perpetrated by members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Various Nigerians have suggested measures to ensure peaceful campaigns and elections.

Osom Mackbere, a lawyer from Yenagoa, urged the President to lead by example and instruct security agencies to maintain order, criticizing the impunity exhibited by his party members. Political analyst Emeka Adule from Umuahia noted that the APC's actions stem from the hardship they have caused citizens, leading them to resort to intimidation tactics.

Mrs. Okuata Chima, a public servant, called for the APC to sanction members who engage in violent acts. David West, a rights activist, emphasized the need for politicians to adhere to rules and engage in constructive discussions.

Manasseh Denga, a financial expert from Abuja, insisted that security agencies must promptly investigate any allegations of violence or incitement.
