Renowned Islamic Scholar Sheikh Rigi-Rigi Laid to Rest in Zaria, Kaduna State

Sheikh Khalifa Usman Idri, widely known as Sheikh Rigi-Rigi, passed away at the age of 57 on February 1, 2026, in Kaduna State, Nigeria. He was a respected Islamic scholar known for his engaging preaching style and humorous approach to teaching complex religious concepts.

Sheikh Rigi-Rigi had a significant following, especially among the youth and grassroots Islamic communities, both locally and on social media platforms like TikTok. His funeral in Zaria attracted hundreds of mourners, including prominent Islamic scholars, community leaders, and admirers.

Sheikh Rigi-Rigi, survived by four wives, 37 children, and grandchildren, was known for his unique blend of humor and wisdom in spreading the message of Islam. He was particularly noted for his teachings on Islamic jurisprudence and fundamental religious principles, drawing inspiration from virtuous companions like Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass.
