Husband and five others kidnapped while transporting corpse

On a Friday evening, a husband and five others were abducted while conveying the corpse of his wife to Benue. Witnesses reported that the mourners, who had traveled from Kano, were nearing their destination when the attack occurred, approximately an hour from the scene.

Local residents discovered an abandoned corpse in the middle of the road the next morning and realized that the vehicle's occupants had been taken by the assailants. Officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) arrived on Saturday morning to evacuate the corpse and transport it to a morgue in Adoka town.

When contacted for comments, the FRSC Information Officer, Ahula, stated that officials were in a meeting but promised to gather details about the incident and follow up with the correspondent.
