Rev. Dachomo Rejects Asylum Offers, Stays to Fight Persecution

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, an outspoken clergyman and chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria, has publicly rejected asylum offers from Australia and Austria.

This decision comes amid increasing death threats against him from Islamist extremists. In an interview on Wednesday, Dachomo emphasized his commitment to stay in Nigeria, stating he prefers to fight for the safety of Christians in the region rather than abandon his flock for safety in foreign countries.

He expressed that he is not afraid of death, asserting, "I am going nowhere," and highlighted that he would rather face threats than leave his community. Despite advice from friends and family to accept the asylum offers, he remains resolute in his mission to protect persecuted Christians in Nigeria, particularly in Plateau State.
