Kwankwaso Open to Reconciliation with Kano Governor Yusuf

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, stated he is open to reconciling with current governor Abba Yusuf, despite their political differences. In an interview with BBC Hausa, Kwankwaso acknowledged that Yusuf's defection to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and subsequent victory in the 2023 governorship election did not diminish their relationship.

He emphasized that he would not hold a grudge against anyone who left the political fold, including Yusuf, and expressed a willingness to forgive. Kwankwaso noted that their past collaboration had faced challenges but highlighted the importance of maintaining political relationships.

He argued that Yusuf's electoral success was a testament to the strength of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, which he intends to continue fostering. Kwankwaso stressed the need for tolerance and understanding in leadership, advocating for an open heart and the acceptance of differing opinions.
