El-Rufai Denies 2027 Presidential Ambition Reports

Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State and a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has publicly debunked reports suggesting he intends to run for the presidency in the 2027 elections. In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Muyiwa Adekey, El-Rufai clarified that he did not authorize any remarks regarding his political aspirations.

He expressed his desire to dissociate himself from comments attributed to an individual described as a political associate, emphasizing that he has not outsourced his political views to others. Throughout his public life, El-Rufai has been known for articulating his views directly and has not authorized any statements that misrepresent his political stance.

The clarification comes amid speculation about his potential candidacy in the upcoming presidential election.
