Nollywood actress Lilian Afegbai reacted to her exclusion from the nomination list for the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA), which was recently announced. Her co-star Bimbo Akintola received a nomination for Best Lead Actress for the project "Kill Monkei." Afegbai expressed her disappointment regarding the snub, asserting that her role in the series "Idia" had garnered significant attention.

However, she maintained that she does not depend on award recognition for validation, stating, "I don’t need a nomination to validate the truth." She also remarked that she believes everything happens for a reason, indicating her acceptance of the situation.
