Sowore Criticizes Obasanjo, Calls for Electoral Reform

In a recent interview, Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), expressed his disdain for former President Olusegun Obasanjo, stating, "I have never met Obasanjo, cannot even stand him." Sowore's comments came in response to a question about his views on Obasanjo, who served as a military head of state and later as a civilian president from 1999 to 2007. Sowore, a human rights activist, criticized the current political landscape, particularly targeting figures such as Nasir El-Rufai, Abubakar Malami, and Babachir Lawal, accusing them of destroying the country.

He highlighted the need for electoral reform and transparency in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. Sowore also pointed out the hypocrisy within the political class, questioning the whereabouts of Senate members and House representatives from the Labour Party regarding security and political office issues.
