Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Reveals Consultation with Peter Obi Before Joining ADC

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, former Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos, revealed he informed Peter Obi before leaving the party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Rhodes-Vivour clarified that Obi was fully briefed and even sent a representative to his defection event in Lagos.

The move is seen as part of a coalition effort to challenge the ruling APC in the 2023 elections. However, the Labour Party leadership criticized Rhodes-Vivour's decision, calling it premature.

The defection aims to build a united opposition bloc capable of contesting the upcoming general election seriously. The event was initially disrupted but later relocated to emphasize the coalition's goal.
