Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate for the 2023 general election, reaffirmed his membership in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) despite a directive for ADC members to resign from other political parties. The Obidient Movement (OM) clarified that Obi remains a member of the coalition within ADC, as the party undergoes restructuring.

The National Publicity Secretary of ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, stated that the directive is part of preparations for the upcoming National Convention in December. While the directive did not specify a timeline for compliance, it signifies a shift in the party's internal dynamics.
