Tracy Ohiri Apologizes to Minister Umahi Over Claims

Tracy Nichola Ohiri, a Nigerian businesswoman, publicly retracted her earlier claims of sexual harassment against Dave Umahi, the current Minister of Works and former Governor of Ebonyi State. In a video statement released on Wednesday, Ohiri apologized for the controversy her allegations caused, acknowledging that her statements had drawn significant public attention and sparked political reactions.

She clarified that she had not been threatened by Umahi and admitted that her earlier claims regarding a hotel meeting were exaggerated and taken out of context. Ohiri explained that she had discussed her claims with family and legal advisors before deciding to retract them.

She also noted that there was no formal written agreement regarding her business dealings with Umahi, stating that materials she delivered were handled without his direct knowledge. Ohiri expressed sincere apologies to Umahi and her family for the embarrassment caused by the allegations, emphasizing that no harassment claims had ever been made against Umahi during his public service.
