Umahi Faces Sexual Harassment Allegations from Businesswoman

Dave Umahi, the Nigerian Minister of Works, is embroiled in controversy following allegations made by businesswoman Tracynit Nichola Ohiri. She claims that during a business trip to Ebonyi State, Umahi made inappropriate advances towards her in a hotel room.

Ohiri alleges that she was inappropriately dressed and that Umahi, who was wrapped in a towel, attempted to intimidate her. She also claims that she has not been reimbursed for campaign materials supplied to Umahi, amounting to a debt of N25.4 million, which has accrued N304 million in interest over eight months.

Following her allegations, Ohiri faced defamation charges and was granted bail. The situation escalated with a viral video of activist Omoyele Sowore confronting Umahi.

Umahi has dismissed the allegations, stating he is not concerned about the online backlash and has referred to previous insinuations made by Natasha Akpoti regarding his character.
