Effiong Bob Defends Petition Against 'Street Lawyer' Ewa Okpo

Effiong Bob, a former senator representing Akwa Ibom North East, addressed the media on Wednesday regarding his petition against Ewa Okpo, a legal practitioner popularly known as the 'Street Lawyer'. Bob asserted that he was exercising his legal rights following accusations made by Okpo in a video circulating online, which alleged that Bob was involved in corrupt political practices.

Bob called for a proper police investigation into the matter, stating that the police had not acted on the initial report. He criticized Okpo's comments defending Governor Umo Eno, emphasizing that political leaders should focus on substantive public discourse rather than personal attacks.

Bob mentioned that the remarks made by Okpo were unfounded and aimed at damaging his reputation, and he urged for a shift towards constructive criticism in political discussions. He also noted that no one should attack the governor in their capacity as a public official.
