Babachir Lawal Resigns from ADC, Compares Atiku to Kachalla

Babachir Lawal, who previously served as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, publicly announced his resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) via a Facebook post. In his statement, he made a controversial comparison between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and bandit kingpin Kachalla, suggesting that Abubakar's actions within the ADC were akin to those of a criminal.

Lawal accused the party of manipulating the recent primaries to favor Abubakar, claiming that the process was marked by significant rigging. He expressed his refusal to participate in what he described as Abubakar's "rig machine" leading up to the 2027 general elections.

Lawal indicated that he intends to return to his village to focus on farming and consulting politically to prevent Abubakar from winning the presidency in 2027.
