Tinubu Shares Challenges of His Presidential Journey

During a visit to the Nigeria Governors Forum in Lagos on Friday, President Bola Tinubu revealed the arduous path he took to become President of Nigeria, describing it as a journey filled with sacrifices and challenges. He acknowledged the support he received from political allies throughout the electoral process leading up to the 2023 presidential election.

Tinubu stated that he faced significant challenges and did not shy away from the difficulties, metaphorically saying he "took the bullet" and "took a hard punch" while maintaining his commitment to the campaign. He expressed gratitude to the governors and political stakeholders for their loyalty and resilience despite uncertainties surrounding the race.

This visit coincided with the Eid el-Kabir celebrations, providing an opportunity for Tinubu to exchange views with state leaders on national development. He reiterated his commitment to addressing pressing issues affecting the country since assuming office in May 2023, including major economic reforms necessary for repositioning Nigeria's economy.
