Oyo Speaker Confirms Impeachment Plot Against Gov. Makinde

Adebowale Ogundoyin, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, confirmed the existence of an impeachment plot against Governor Seyi Makinde. He admitted that he was approached with a monetary inducement by former First Lady Florence Ajimobi to facilitate the impeachment.

Ogundoyin disclosed this information during a press conference on Tuesday, clarifying various allegations surrounding the impeachment move. He stated that he met with Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, to seek royal blessings for Governor Makinde.

In response to the allegations, Florence Ajimobi issued a statement through her media office, denying any involvement in the plot and describing the claims as a deliberate attempt to tarnish her image and mislead the public. She emphasized that she was not present at any meeting aimed at influencing the state assembly's discussions.
