Oyo Assembly Speaker Rejects Bribe to Impeach Governor

Adebowale Ogundoyin, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, disclosed that he was approached with a monetary inducement to facilitate the impeachment of Governor Seyi Makinde. Ogundoyin, representing Ibarapa East State Constituency, firmly rejected the offer, asserting that no amount of money could compromise his conscience or loyalty to the governor and the people who elected him.

He made this statement available to the Daily Post on Tuesday. Additionally, Ogundoyin mentioned that he met with Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, and former First Lady Florence Ajimobi, but clarified that he was not part of any plot to impeach the governor.

He reiterated his commitment to uphold the integrity of the House and serve the interests of the people.
