Oyo Assembly Chief Whip Denies Impeachment Plot Against Makinde

Gbenga Oyekola, the Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, publicly responded to growing rumors regarding an alleged plot to impeach Governor Seyi Makinde. In a statement made on Tuesday, Oyekola, who represents the Atiba State Constituency, clarified that he was not involved in any meetings linked to the impeachment discussions.

He emphasized his unwavering loyalty and support for Governor Makinde, who is a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Oyekola warned that attempts by certain individuals to create divisions within the assembly could damage the working relationship between the legislature and the state government.
