Anosike Promises Agricultural Revolution for Abia State

Dr. Kelechi Anosike, the 2027 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, announced his commitment to reviving the agricultural revolution initiated by the late Premier Dr. Michael Okpara. Speaking at the 2026 Iwa Ji Ohuhu Festival in Umuahia North Local Government Area, Anosike unveiled his "Operation Feed Abia," a back-to-farm state policy aimed at achieving food security and increasing food production for export.

He assured that under his leadership, Abians struggling to afford meals would experience food abundance. Anosike plans to modernize farm settlements established by Okpara, incorporating ICT and recreational facilities to attract youth to agriculture.

He also intends to reintroduce agricultural extension workers to educate farmers on best practices and reduce chemical use that spoils produce. Additionally, he proposed local government support for farmers through machinery and cooperative financing linked to a new Traders Micro-finance Bank to enhance agricultural prosperity and economic welfare.
