Abia Farmers Back PDP's Dr. Kelechi Anosike for Governorship

Over 40,000 farmers from the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Abia State chapter have endorsed Dr. Kelechi Anosike, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as their sole candidate for the February 6, 2027 governorship election. The endorsement was announced by AFAN State Chairman Mike Obinna Okezie during a visit to Anosike's campaign office in Umuahia.

Okezie praised Anosike for his welfarist programs and agricultural agenda, which resonate with the farmers' needs for food security. The association's resolution highlighted Anosike's plans, including Operation Feed Abia, restoration of agricultural extension services, and revitalization of farm settlements.

The farmers pledged to mobilize across the 17 LGAs to support Anosike's campaign. PDP Campaign Council Chairman Ambassador Empire Kanu expressed confidence in Anosike's ability to replicate historical agricultural successes in the region.

Anosike agreed to establish a Directorate of Farmers within the campaign council to ensure farmers' involvement in policy formulation.
