Abia PDP Candidate Anosike Backs Tinubu, Advocates Welfare

Dr. Kelechi Anosike, the 2027 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State, has expressed his support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election, attributing the positive impact of the fuel subsidy removal on state revenues. In a statement from his media unit, Anosike noted that the policy has led to increased allocations for the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, enabling governments to undertake more projects and fulfill financial obligations.

He emphasized that the economic benefits should translate into improved welfare for Nigerians, who are facing the repercussions of subsidy removal. Anosike proposed a six-point welfare package aimed at addressing rising costs in transportation, food, healthcare, and education, while also creating opportunities for youth.

He warned against prioritizing infrastructure over citizens' welfare, asserting that development projects are meaningless if basic needs are unaffordable. Anosike's administration, if elected, would focus on combining infrastructure development with welfare programs to enhance the living conditions of Abians.
