Sule Lamido Reaffirms Commitment to PDP Amid Challenges

Sule Lamido, a key figure in the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and former governor of Jigawa State, declared his unwavering commitment to the party during a stakeholders' meeting held on Saturday in Jigawa State. He emphasized that he will not abandon the PDP despite the internal difficulties it faces, which include increasing defections and criticisms from prominent politicians who are aligning with smaller parties.

Lamido cautioned against leaving the PDP, comparing such actions to deserting one's family during tough times, asserting that abandoning the party is not a solution to its challenges. He further alleged that some politicians are attempting to dominate smaller political platforms, particularly the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and warned that such actions could undermine the political integrity and development of the PDP.

Lamido called for collective responsibility in resolving the party's issues through internal reforms and urged party members to remain committed to rebuilding and strengthening the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections, including revalidating party registration online to ensure voter registration.
