Lamido Reaffirms Loyalty to PDP, Critiques Party Hoppers

Alhaji Sule Lamido, the former governor of Jigawa State, has publicly reaffirmed his loyalty to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) amidst internal crises within the party. Speaking at a stakeholders' meeting in Dutse, Jigawa State, Lamido criticized prominent politicians in Nigeria who abandon the PDP to join smaller parties, such as the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which he co-founded.

He cautioned against such defections, stating that they undermine the political integrity and development of the PDP in Jigawa State. Lamido emphasized that challenges within the party should not lead to abandonment but rather inspire members to work together to resolve issues and strengthen the party.

He argued that leaving the PDP during difficult times is akin to deserting one's family and that collective responsibility is essential for the party's future. Lamido's statements come as the PDP faces increasing defections and internal disagreements, highlighting the need for reform and unity among its members.
